Territories that extract a lot, whether for internal consumption or export, have high 'energy depletion'. In absolute terms the United States has the highest depletion, followed by the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Per person rates are highest in Kuwait, followed by Saudi Arabia and Norway.
