Dairy products include milk, butter, cheese and eggs. Dairy products make up 0.8% of world trade. As with many trade maps, Europe is large and Africa is very small on this map. Their relative sizes result from the combination of the goods moved and the US dollar value of these goods. The value of goods depends partly on exchange rates. In terms of US dollars worth of dairy products exported (net), New Zealand has the highest per person earnings at US$ 641 a year. Dairy produce from New Zealand is exported to 140 different territories, 3.5 million dairy cows live there. Less than a quarter of the world territories have net dairy exports. |
